Julia is the current Group CSR Ethical Manager at Hilton Foods, a leading international multi-protein supplier. Hilton Foods is a business of over 5000 employees, operating 24 technologically advanced food processing, packing and logistics facilities across Europe and Australasia. Julia leads the human rights work at Hilton Foods, a topic which traverses both Hilton Food Group’s own operations and supply chains, holding particular expertise in seafood supply chains. She works within our Group function to empower our national businesses to engage in human rights due diligence, and provides central resource for the implementation of our policies, procedures, and global risk assessment. Most recently, Julia led Hilton’s work to develop operational-level grievance mechanisms aligned with UNGPs at our sites across the UK. She previously led sustainable sourcing and ethical trade at Lovering Foods, an ambient goods agent specialising in seafood and oriental foods. Julia holds a Masters by Research from Heriot-Watt University, examining the role of fashion manufacture in enabling international development.
The Food Network for Ethical Trade (FNET) connects major UK food retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and a range of small, medium and large food companies to build more ethical trade by identifying and tackling human rights issues in food supply chains.
Please contact FNET if you would like to know more about the work we do and if you are interested in joining the network.
