Happy retirement Linda & reflections on a career in the food industry

Today marks a special day for FNET team and for Linda especially, as we say goodbye to our colleague and wish her a long and healthy retirement. Linda has been in the food industry for over 40 years across several sectors, different roles and operating in global geographies including Europe, Thailand, Vietnam and India. Linda’s passion for human rights and fairness led her to joining FNET in 2023 where she was able to support our Working Groups in Responsible Recruitment, Empowering Work and Development of Common Due Diligence Tools, as well as lead the new member onboarding and outreach program.

She leaves us having supported the delivery of several tools and resources that members have used including the FNET risk assessment tool update for 2025.

Linda stated “I have been delighted to work with the FNET team, board and its members over the last 2 years and hope that in a small way my work has helped businesses working in the food space to ensure they deliver against our vision to deliver a fair, equitable and resilient food system where people are able to realise their human rights. My belief is that through collaboration and shared learning in a pre-competitive space that businesses can make better progress, faster and business leader and managers can feel supported when dealing with some challenging issues. There is nowhere in the industry that provides the safe and brave space that FNET does when business come together.

I am looking forward to watching with interest the work of FNET and the fabulous team and would advise any business who wants to do more on human rights in own operations or supply chains to join and reap the benefits of the membership. Getting started is the hardest part, making a difference is exhilarating”
