Sam is the Senior Manager for Human Rights Programmes at the John Lewis Partnership. She began her career as a Merchandiser at Home Base and then moved to Debenhams where she transitioned into the world of ethical trade and responsible sourcing. Since then Sam has worked upstream in supply chain roles both within the food and clothing sectors. She has focused at different levels of the supply chain with factory level programmes as well as raw material and commodities sourcing.Drawing on experience from buying/merchandising, supplier ethical and technical compliance, and working in retail and brands as a Human Rights Manager has been critical to Sam’s development of the John Lewis Partnership’s broader human rights work. It is Sam’s belief that only through a focus on partnership can positive change occur for those working within supply chains and the surrounding communities.
The Food Network for Ethical Trade (FNET) connects major UK food retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and a range of small, medium and large food companies to build more ethical trade by identifying and tackling human rights issues in food supply chains.
Please contact FNET if you would like to know more about the work we do and if you are interested in joining the network.
